Exercising for kids should be fun. Instead of kids feeling like they are "forced" to work out, here are some ideas on how to keep it fun while still getting there 30 minutes to an hour workout!
Start out Stretching to some Fun Music!
Start off with some simple body stretches to keep muscles strong and healthy. A stretching sequence can also help transition kids into a more relaxed state and help prevent injuries.
One example is to gave them reach their arms in the sky as high as they can! Super high that they can touch the sky!
Another example is having them put their hands on their hips and then move their upper body side to side!
Get those feet up and off the ground for a fun and easy exercise that kids will want to do. Jumps build muscle strength and endurance.
Fun jumps for kids to try include:
Jumping jacks: stretch arms and legs out to the side like a starfish while jumping, return arms to sides and legs to center on landing
Tuck jumps: bend knees and lift heels high while jumping
One-foot hops: lift one knee and jump on standing leg; alternate
Jumping on a trampoline is a low-impact way to get your blood pumping, your cardiovascular system working and your muscles moving. By just bouncing up and down, you can burn calories and boost your metabolism. Jumping can also get your core, legs and buttocks into shape. It can also help prevent obesity in children at a young age and get them more excited to work out!
